The five CPD sessions are highly interactive and will swiftly provide teachers with strategies to embed in their professional practice the following day.
CPD Session 1: Memory & Metacognition
This session will provide teachers with resources and clear strategies to support students with metacognition and memory techniques. In addition, staff will review their current ‘intent’ and ‘sequencing’ of their delivery and how this can be clearly shared with students. Teachers will acquire new strategies which can be quickly embedded into their lessons and will develop the learners’ retention of information and understanding of their learning.
CPD Session 2: Creativity in Teaching & Learning
This session will provide teachers with an array of activities to think outside the box, challenge their normal delivery approach and ultimately enable students to have a highly engaging experience. The session will focus on the role of memory – a key focus in the new Ofsted framework. Teachers will quickly be able to embed their new found techniques in their next lesson without extra work.
CPD Session 3: Stretch & Challenge in Teaching & Learning
This session will focus on ‘Sequencing’ a new term used by Ofsted. The session will provide engaging ways to organise learning and ensure that learning is taking place through some excellent resources which will support both staff and students’ thinking about learning. Teachers will be armed with engaging resources to stretch and challenge learners in a manner which empowers students to own their learning.
CPD Session 4: Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP techniques are essential to build rapport – critical for positive behaviours and attitudes in the classroom. Teachers will find NLP techniques fascinating due to the swift impact they can have on developing communication and motivation in students. The session will be very interactive and enable teachers to utilise their new found skills right away, in and outside the classroom.
CPD Session 5: Persuasion & Influence
This session will focus on developing teachers’ awareness of Emotional Intelligence (EQ), body language, listening skills, empathy. Teachers will learn the behaviours of successful influencers and how these can be modelled and shared with others. Teachers will develop a strong self-awareness of their attitudes and behaviours and the impact these may have on their students.
